Colorfully Planted Terrace Design

This residence hovering on the bluff of Atlantic Avenue in North Hampton with a dramatic shore view was designed with a very contemporary informal landscape style to suit the client’s taste.

The property is terraced to create a large usable plateau where the pool is located, using tiers of roughhewn field stone. Those long terrace walls then support many layers of plant materials.

As directed by the client, the planting scheme is deliberately lush and colorful from season to season. The long open ocean views are therefore seen against a vivid foreground of plants as evidenced by the photos herewith.
