Intent to Burn: Sculpture for Community Fires

October 22, 2017

The FireCage series, designed by Terrence Parker, landscape artist, puts the heat back in the fire and the atmosphere in the gathering a fire can create. Built like it was conceived and constructed in the Dark Ages, these sculptural devices cage the fire when in-use and rekindle the memory of the flame when idle. Wood Stacks easy. Burns hot. The hand-forged steel by master Portsmouth blacksmith—Peter Happny--who is an innovative leader in contemporary blacksmithing--bends and hammers the steel to his will. All models are built for decades of use: think long-term Infrastructure. Real fire-Contained. Like the first ancient spark.
